Last June I began working on the artist book titled “216,566 rubles and 62 kopecks spent on the Eurotour project with no results”, spending at least 3 months writing the autofictional text and developing the layout, and 6 months making hand-made paper from recycled cash receipts. Conceived as a hybrid of an expense report and a map, the book quickly evolved beyond its initial concept, developing into a travelogue — not only of the specific territory of so-called Ural Europe but also of the auto-character’s artistic practice. The work was available for purchase by pre-order only. All 20 copies will be sent to collectors in Russia, Israel, Germany, and the Netherlands. I’m also creating two author’s copies.
