Starting from May 28, I’m launching the pre-order for my new artist book “212,866 rubles and 62 kopecks spent on the Eurotour Project, but nothing came of it”. In this work, I continue my long-term reflection on the economy of artistic labour. Initiated in 2017 with the collecting of receipts and documenting all my expenses as an artist, this research culminated in the installation “Total: 1,118,176 rubles and 4 kopecks to produce 10 art projects in the period 01.11.2017 to 01.11.2022 (of which 6 completed, 1 in progress, 3 unknown status)”, created for the Garage Museum.
“212,866 rubles and 62 kopecks” expands on this reflection but focuses on a specific “unrealized” outcome and the acknowledgment of creative failure. In the new book, I attempt to conceptually finalize the work already done and partially present an archive of expeditions. Only 20 copies will be available for sale.
More details about the project, its objectives, and pre-order conditions can be found here.
