NOVA ART announced a list of 12 winners projects which were chosen from 660 applications. My project Assemblage is among the selected works.

NOVA ART is a call for projects by emerging artists, who get a chance to implement their ideas and be supported by the professional community, and are offered other tools for further development. For the 1st time ever, the contest was held in 2006, initiated by Ekaterina Andreeva, an art critic and senior researcher in the Contemporary Art Department of the State Russian Museum, and Anna Barinova, founder of contemporary art gallery Anna Nova.

This year’s theme of NOVA ART is “New Skin: The Myth of a Technological Body”. The art competition, now at its 8th iteration, is curated by Snejana Krasteva from Moscow’s Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. Inspired by feminist scholar Donna Haraway’s 1985’s landmark essay A Cyborg Manifesto, the topic invites artists to reflect on new forms and boundaries of human identity, and the mechanisms of creation of political myths.
