The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts / NCCA Ekaterinburg launches the Young Artist Lab — a project aimed at finding emerging artists who have already been practising, want to try themselves in the contemporary art field or expand the range of creative methods. The Lab is also conceived as a platform for further career development and integration into the artistic community.
I’ve been invited to become one of the laboratory’s tutors. The workshop I will be teaching in October and November is called “Geology of ideas and artist research”. It focuses on methods and tools for long-term artistic research. Together with the participants, we will reflect on how an artist can scan ideas, evaluate them, build the research and find the comfortable speed for working.
Within The Lab program, I will work in the studio at the NCCA space and then will share some of the results in the open studio format. The Lab starts with my artist talk, which will be held on October 20 at the NCCA library.
